These are sample questions. The interviewer may choose a set of questions from this list or may modify or add other pertinent questions in the set selected for any given position selection process.
- Please tell me (us) why you are applying for this position as an A+ Group Leader/Aide?
- As you see it, what are your strengths that can contribute to this job? What are the areas you feel you want to strengthen?
- Describe the work experience you have had with young children.
- How would you work with children in a group setting when ages range from five to 12?
- When children fight, would you get involved? How?
- As an Aide (Group Leader), you notice a few 6th grade students in your group loudly laughing and talking to each other while you are giving instructions to the whole group. What, if anything, would you say to them?
- Do you have any special knowledge, skills, or talents that you can share with your A+ children?
- What kind of student are (were) you in school? What are (were) your accomplishments?
- Do you feel that you can write presentable reports or notes to parents about their children’s performance in the program?
- How do you feel about children? What do you think children need from you as an A+ Aide (Group Leader)?
- How much energy do you have? Can you lead physical fitness exercises? Can you lead children in schoolyard games and activities?
- How do you feel when children call each other names? Call you names? What do you do?
- What are your professional/career goals for the next five years?
- Describe any experiences you have had in supervising others.
